Point of View and Perspectives
Point of View: When looking for point of view, you can do two things (see anchor chart) 1. You can talk about the point of view of the narration (story) When searching for the point of view of narration, ask yourself: What lens is this story is being looked through? How removed is the narrator from the action? There are 4 different points of view that you will come across: First-person point of view, Second- person point of view, Third-person limited, and Third-person omniscient point of view. In your readings, you will mostly come across a first-person narrative or a third person narrative. 2. The point of view of the narrator or the character What does the narrator or the character think about what is happening? What does he/she believe? How is his experience? What is his experience?
